This is my explanation about the phenomenal hype in my country, Indonesia. One young person created a video on the social media app TikTok about what is happening in their city, specifically the negative aspects.
For example, the damaged road is causing problems for drivers and may lead to accidents, while the stalled development project prevents the community from enjoying new infrastructure and economic opportunities.
This young person is brilliant at using data and evidence to provide a detailed and factual explanation of the issues related to their city. They are so committed to their cause that they have even created a presentation to convey their explanations and supporting evidence.
Behind all of that, there are so many obstacles that need to be handled. They are attacked by the number one person in their city, starting from intimidation, verbal abuse, and threats.
However, many people, or what we can call “netizens”, support them in addressing their issues. Some people pray for them, while others share their videos to criticize the government in Lampung and tag many influential figures, such as lawyers.
As of now, while I am writing this content, the case between the government of Lampung and them is still ongoing. From this case, we can learn many valuable lessons in life. Both parties can find the best way forward.
